Ephesians 1:9-10 (NLT)

“God has now revealed to us his mysterious plan regarding Christ, a plan to fulfill his own good pleasure.  And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.”

You have been given the super-secret decoder ring! You have been given a behind-the-scenes tour of the most epic production to ever play out over time & space! What was previously hidden has now been revealed…to you! And you thought Mission Impossible was cool.

Pastor John MacArthur puts it much better than I could ever hope to:

“History is written and directed by its Creator, who will see it through to the fulfillment of His own ultimate purpose—the summing up of all things in Christ. He designed His great plan in the ages past; He now sovereignly works it out according to His divine will; and in the fullness of the times He will complete and perfect it in His Son, in whom it will forever operate in righteous harmony and glorious newness along with all things in the heavens and things upon the earth.”

I didn’t have a clue about any of this until I was born again. I had heard various things about it growing up in a mainline denomination, but it didn’t become crystal clear until God saved me. Once He did, I thought to myself, “Wow! Why didn’t anybody tell me about this before?” The fact is, without salvation you just don’t have the ability to understand.

Spiritual truths are spiritually discerned (1 Cor. 2:14) so if you find yourself getting frustrated with an unbeliever because you just can’t get them to “see the light”…lighten up! Only God can reveal His mysterious plan to them. In the meantime, be exceedingly glad that He has already revealed it to you!
