Apollo 11

Today’s show will discuss Apollo 11, Trump’s foolish tweets, the “racist” church billboard, and a Money Monday update.

Starting off, Saturday was Apollo 11’s 50 year anniversary. The moon landing, at the time, was a morale booster and a great victory for the U.S. During the Cold War, America had lost its gusto. Americans were starting to think that America itself was losing the war and that communism was the new way of the world. However, during the space race with Russia, that had all changed. Being the first on the moon gave a new burst of energy for Americans and shed some light in the dark times.

Moving forward, NASA is hoping to fund another moon landing in 2024. The Artemis Moon Lander will take astronauts to the moon. This includes taking the first woman to the moon as well! This program is not only going to be a victory for the U.S. again, but it will be another victory for the human race as a whole.

Trump’s Foolish Tweets

President Trump is known for being extremely vocal on Twitter. As of recent, there has been a feud between The Squad (AOC and colleagues) and President Trump. Trump addressing The Squad had said if they didn’t like America, they should go back from where they came from. The Squad is entirely people of color. However, 3 of the 4 Squad members were born in America. Therefore, this statement was based on name and sight alone. Is it racist? Maybe. Was it foolish? Absolutely.

The “Racist” Church Billboard

“Love it or leave it” was posted on a billboard of a church in a small town. It has taken the news by storm and even members of the congregation disapprove. Was this intentionally racist? Probably not. The phrase “love it or leave it” or “if you don’t like it leave” has been around since the time of Jesus himself. However, not knowing the sole intention nor the Pastor’s heart, we do not know for sure.
