Ephesians 6:17a

“Put on salvation as your helmet…”

Sometimes, after I sin, I stop and ask myself, “Am I even saved?” I don’t know about you, but there are some sins that I still struggle with on an almost daily basis…and they can really be discouraging. Enter the Helmet of Salvation.

Once attained, it can never be lost. Jesus Himself said, “…no one will snatch them out of my hand.” The Helmet of Salvation reminds me that my salvation is secure. My destination is set. My hope is eternal. If you don’t put on the helmet, the lies of Satan and his minions will easily enter your head. You will be fearful for your soul, unsure of your place, and unable to confidently move ahead.

Just as important is the need to guard your thinking. Jesus commands us to love Him with all of our heart, soul, strength, and MIND (Luke 10:27). The helmet serves to protect our biblical worldview from the deception that surrounds us 24/7. As a Christian, you have the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth, and that truth needs to be protected from the lies of the world.

So, before you take another step today…make sure you put on your Helmet of Salvation!
