Matthew 10:26-28

“So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”

Just about everybody hates rejection. We hate it when it comes from the opposite sex in our dating years. We hate it when it comes to the workplace and somebody rejects our ideas or our sales pitch. I’d like to say we hate it in the spiritual realm because people don’t want to hear the Gospel or what the Bible has to say about the daily issues of life…but I think that most of us never really put ourselves in the position to find out. Are we a bunch of “Wimpy Christians?”

Is “The Good News” good…or not?

Is “The Truth” important…or not?

Is “Loving Your Neighbor” loving…or not?

Assuming that you agree in the positive with all three of those, why don’t we “speak in the daylight” and “proclaim from the roofs” the incredible truth God has made clear to us?

FEAR of man rather than FEAR of God.

Most of us are man-pleasers…pain-avoiders…comfort zone-addicts…wimpy Christians. We say we love people but we don’t love them enough to tell them the truth about life, death, Heaven, Hell, sex, money, pride, greed, unforgiveness, bitterness, purity, modesty, self-control, anger, condescension, arrogance, etc.

We say we love people but we don’t love them enough to tell them about love, freedom, peace, meaning, hope, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faith, acceptance, forgiveness, salvation, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and God Himself.

The fear of man is a road that leads to death. The fear of God is a road that leads to life. So…choose this day whom you will serve (Joshua 24:15).

Get off the fence.

Repent of “Wimpy Christianity”.

Love God enough to love the world well and speak the truth.
