From Canadian to a patriot to a citizen, this is the story of Don Perran.

Hear the incredible process of becoming a citizen. Don only moving to the United States at the age of 6 with his family became an official U.S citizen more than 60 years later. Don also reads some of his incredible poems after these events, such as passing his U.S citizen test, voting for the first time, and more. Don Perran is truly proud to be an American.

Soon after writing a poem, Don’s wife urged him to move on to different styles of writing. Soon, Don made lyrics to a song but scrapped the idea. While at a local country club near Raleigh, North Carolina, Don’s wife found a great singer. After conversing with the singer, Don could finally start work on his song.
